Description

An update to Roadsoft 7 is available. This update will bring your Roadsoft 7 up to version 7.0.0.6.

This update includes the following Fixes/Enhancements:

7.0.0.6 (6/30/2010)

Curve Library
- Fixed bug in Road Module Surface Segment tab which would throw error if null values exist in surface definition column.
- Improved the accuracy of estimated Rating/RSL Confidence for Surface Types modeled by S-Curves
Data Statistics
- Fixed bug which would include unrated roads with roads rated as poor.
DB Manager
- Improvements to how the interface interacts with Sql Server/Database connections.
- Fixed bug which would show duplicate backup files in some folders.
- Fixed bug which would allow expansion of a backup file in the folder list as if it were a folder.
- Backup files on Database Restore Browse for Backups form are now sorted.
Driveway Module
- When adding a new driveway by location, the module will now zoom to the map's current visible extent.
- Fixed error when deleting a driveway.
Import
- Import Roadsoft and Import LDC forms will load recently imported list from user settings instead of database.
- Fixed foreign key exception importing Views.
Intersections
- When selecting an intersection with the Crash layer visible, previous crash selection will now be cleared before selecting the crashes at the selected intersection.
- Fixed exception when switching from the intersection layer to another layer and back when an intersection is selected.
Legends
- Added 'Auto Add Ranges' button to automatically add n range items based on the maximum value for the current legend field.
- Added 'Good/Fair/Poor' road legend based on Current Surface Rating.
- Fixed bug if you added 2 legend fields of different types, they would cancel each other out and you'd get no rendering.
Login
- Roadsoft user credentials are now validated BEFORE scripts are run.
Lookup Edits
- Fixed bug when adding a lookup value (such as Support Type) from the Sign Module that would leave a blank form open.
Map
- Added some 'Zoom To' options to the right-click menu including a list of jurisdictions.
- Added right-click Labels options to the right-click menu to toggle labels on all visible layers on/off.
- Fixed problem with external layer added to map with different projection--selections not available.
- Fixed some issues with the map refreshing multiple times when zoomed out to full extents (usually when applying a saved network).
Road Module
- Fixed bug which would show no selected segments when loading the Road Module immediately after using the Find Road form.
Zoom to Jurisdiction Form
- For region distributions, the list will appear as a treeview of County->Cities and County->Townships instead of a grid.

TAMC Export
- Fixed Export to shapefile for council to use the current year for file names.
Import
- Fixed timeout issue for imports that take longer than 10 minutes.
Startup
- Fixed issue with users from different Windows operating systems not being able to connect.
Map
- Fixed lockup when applying a saved Sign Network as selection if the Sign Module wasn't open.

LDC 7.0.4. is now available

Description

LDC 7.0.4 is now available

LDC 7.0.4 is included on the RoadSoft 7.0.0.5 CD.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

If you are currently running LDC version 6.9x, before you install LDC 7.0.4, complete any outstanding data collection activities. Any data in the LDC will be overwritten by the upgrade.
If you're planning to collect data soon and you need the upgrade ASAP, please call RoadSoft Tech Support at 906-487-2102 to request expedited shipping

LDC 7.0.4 Update Notes:

If you have already installed LDC 7, there is an update available for LDC 7.0.4. This update will *NOT* update LDC prior to 7.0.

LDC 7.0.4 Update Details:

Fixed bug loading some sign images that are PNGs.

LDC 7.0.3 Update Details:

Fixed exception that occurred on LDC shutdown.

LDC 7.0.2 Update Details:

Updated Sign Library.
Now saving an Updated flag for Sign, Culvert, Grail, and Driveway layers to show what data has been modified.

LDC 7.0.1 Update Details:

Fixed subscript out of range error on export.

RoadSoft SQL Express 2008 Database Server

Description

Roadsoft requires a SQL Server back-end. If you do not already have a SQL Server available on your network, you can install the Roadsoft SQL Express 2008 Database Server on your computer (or any computer on your network).

Please Note: This install requires a minimum of Windows XP SP2

This installer is a small bootstrap type installer which requires an internet connection. It will automatically download the required prerequisites and components.

RoadSoft 6.9.x to 6.9.5 Update

Description

RoadSoft 6.9.5

This update is for users with RoadSoft version 6.9.0 or newer. This is a cumulative release for RoadSoft and includes all updates from 6.9.0 through 6.9.5. For more information on updates, view the RS6History.txt file by clicking the Help->Version History menu from within Roadsoft.

This update also has a related LDC patch.

This update is not available on CD, but to request a RoadSoft 7.0 CD, send an e-mail to roadsoft@mtu.edu or fax a request on your agency letterhead to 906-487-3409.

Please Note: This update is only available for users of RoadSoft 6.9.0 and above but does not apply to RoadSoft 7.0 release.

RoadSoft 6.9.0 is now available on CD

Description

This update includes:

* Migration to Framework version 8
* Enhanced Network Builder
* Enhanced Reporting
* Updated Crash Data (thru 2008)

This update is for users with RoadSoft version 6.8 or newer. This is a cumulative release for RoadSoft and includes all updates from 6.8.0 through 6.9.0.

This update is requires that LDC be updated to 6.9.0. Any data in LDC will be overwritten.

Please Note, this update is only available on CD: Users running RoadSoft version 6.8 need to request a CD containing Basemap Framework data for migration. The CD also includes updated Bridge, Crash, and Basemap data.

Roadsoft Users running version 6.7 or earlier should contact Roadsoft Technical Support at 906-487-2102.

To request a RoadSoft CD including this update, send an e-mail to roadsoft@mtu.edu. If your agency has never used RoadSoft, you must fax a request on your agency letterhead to 906-487-3409.

2006 Michigan Crash Data

2006 Michigan Crash data is available for RoadSoft. This data is only available on a CD. If you are a current RoadSoft user you can request a CD. Please send an email to roadsoft@mtu.edu or call (906) 487-2102 to make the request.

If you are new to RoadSoft and are public agency in Michigan:

Send a letter or fax, on agency letterhead, signed by a person in authority, to the Center for Technology and Training (906) 487-3409

·         Fax should include:
·         Name of person requesting RoadSoft
·         Address
·         Phone Number
·         Statement requesting RoadSoft and the jurisdiction needed, such as: County, City, Village, etc.
·         e-mail address (necessary for notification of version updates)
