Strategy Evaluation

Answering these questions is easy if you have RoadSoft GIS with its Strategy Evaluation module and data for your jurisdiction. |
The RoadSoft Strategy Evaluation Module gives you the ability to plan, report, and explain how much you will spend throughout the life of your network. You can easily determine the cost of maintaining a 100-mile road network for 20 years, or determine what the best maintenance decisions are if you have $50 million of funding over a three year period. The reports are easy to understand for the non-engineer and they explain in financial terms why you make the engineering decisions you make.
-
The Strategy Evaluation Module allows you to create a maintenance plan for your entire road network across multiple surface types.
-
The Network Summary Area shows a snapshot of the current condition of your network. For example, the screen below shows the distribution of road segments in good, fair, and poor conditions.
-
The Strategy Definition Area allows you to define treatments to maintain your network in dollars or lane miles over the life of the strategy. Using this tool, you can decide to perform maintenance given a set dollar amount, or you might decide to determine how much the maintenance of a given number of miles will cost over its lifetime. This is your “mix of fixes.” The graphs on the right of the Strategy Evaluation Module Interface describe the money spent, percentage of good/fair/poor roads, lane miles of activities performed, and average remaining surface life for each year of the strategy.
-
You can define a plan of “mix of fixes,” see how much money you are going to spend, evaluate the condition of your network, and determine what types of treatments you’ll be performing over the life of the strategy.
