• Understand and explain the details. Make smart roadway management decisions.

"The strategy development and optimization tools have been great for
demonstrating to local officials how different maintenance scenarios can
affect road quality."

Pavement Deterioration

Pavement Deterioration

  • When will we need to resurface Main Street?
  • If we don't resurface Main Street, how long will it be before it completely deteriorates?
  • How much longer will County Road A last if we sealcoat it? How about if we apply a thin overlay?

Answer these questions with the RoadSoft GIS Pavement Deterioration models and your local data.

The deterioration models are an integral part of the RoadSoft Road Module. When you rate a road or apply a treatment, the deterioration model applies historical condition data to give you an expected lifespan of that road. With as little as one rating and a definition of the surface type, you can generate an expected lifespan and determine when the pavement reaches a critical maintenance need. This model, based on research by leading scientists and tested against real historical data, uses past rating data, road design, and statistical methods to give you the best possible expectation of road conditions many years into the future.
